atFics.com was was founded with the goal of strengthening the current fanfiction community.

Sites like FF.net provide great audiences for writers but in other ways many authors and fics can get lost under the sheer size of the site and number of fics hosted there. While FF.net brings many fics to readers at the same time it can also disconnect readers from the author. There is only so much an author can do with a profile page and between that and the rules about author notes nothing can quite compare to the 1:1 interaction of an author’s personal website.

For those whom already have a site hosts like Geocities, Angelfire, or Tripod are just not sufficient anymore. With that in mind atFics.com’s primary goal is bringing authors and their readers together by helping authors have a personal website beyond their FF.net profile. We hope to provide hosting, design, and the support neccisary for every author to not only have a site but have one that is as easy to maintan as it is to send an email or post to FF.net. No HTML, CSS, or coding knowledge required!

Secondary objectives of @Fics include:
Helping authors with their fics by providing writing guides and tips.
Building a community of fanfiction authors readers, and enthusiasts.
Exposing authors to new audiences and readers to new experiences.

His class really helped me while I can’t share the year’s worth of work he put us through he did give me a powerpoint that he used and I decided to see what I could do in adapting it to the internets. Originally started as a tool for flaming I eventually evolved it into a full informative slideshow.

There are 5 major parts of the sideshow. Its not all of his “pallet” but it is most of what we went through that year: Participles, Absolutes, Appositives, Adjectives Out of Order, Action Verbs

For those interested we have a banner exchange program where fanfiction banner are placed on your page and your fanfic related banner displayed on others.

There are no paid advertisements and everything is moderated and all adverts should be fanfiction related. No money changes hands and besides getting linked to by others within the program no one profits beyond the extra cross-linking.

By using various Content Management Systems (CMSs) we can make the process of updating your site and posting your fics as simple as posting on a message board or sending an email. No coding or technical experience neccisary for maintaining your new site!

There are many pre-made templates or we can make you a themes depending on what you want:
Maybe something sleek and cool looking?
Better yet maybe simple and to the point?
Want something themed to your fanfic?
How about one build around some fanart?

Tell us what you want and we will try our best to accomidate you. You can make a request at the appropriate section of our forum.

Don’t know how to make a website?
We are willing to do the hard part for you with our Web Design services. We will setup the hosting and then make you a system where updating it is as easy as posting on a message board or typing an email!

After helping Miriani make a webpage I decided I wanted to use what little skills I had to make others sites so those authors concentrate solely on writing. Then with the old-school webrings that I used to use to find new reads falling into disrepair I wanted to found my own. Finally with RACC closing, Anifics hosted sites being dislocated, and many Geocities and Tripod author pages slowly disappearing from the net I wanted to provide hosting for every author that wanted it.

With FF.net around today I had no real urgency till Sgt.Ranma an author I used to correspond with back in the day began writing again but was reduced to using Myspace to distribute the .txt versions of his fic after his Anifics hosting died. With plenty of space left over on my reselling server I use for Sempai.net & NekoMode.com projects and more skilled now than I was back in 2005 I managed to hammer out the framework of what I hope will be a successful project.
