Hello world!

Well this is the official launch of atFics.com, atFiction, or simply “@Fics”. atFics is something that has been on my mind since 2002 in some form or another. Originally planned to be fanfiction award site to give cute little photoshoped medals to my favorite authors from the mid 1990s it has since changed over the years.

After helping Miriani make a webpage I decided I wanted to use what little skills I had to make others sites so those authors concentrate solely on writing. Then with the old-school webrings that I used to use to find new reads falling into disrepair I wanted to found my own. Finally with RACC closing, Anifics hosted sites being dislocated, and many Geocities and Tripod author pages slowly disappearing from the net I wanted to provide hosting for every author that wanted it.

With FF.net around today I had no real urgency till Sgt.Ranma an author I used to correspond with back in the day began writing again but was reduced to using Myspace to distribute the .txt versions of his fic after his Anifics hosting died. With plenty of space left over on my reselling server I use for Sempai.net & NekoMode.com projects and more skilled now than I was back in 2005 I managed to hammer out the framework of what I hope will be a successful project.
